Superior Storage & Backup (R1Soft’s CDP) Now @ Layered Tech!

February 11, 2009

Layered Technologies implements Continuous Data Protection (CDP) from R1Soft for Superior Storage and Real-Time Backup

Customers gain more control over backups, increased data reliability, higher security and an affordable disaster recovery solution.  Find out more >>

r1softlogogif1Layered Tech today announced the addition of R1Soft Continuous Data Protection® (CDP) across its entire line of dedicated servers. With R1Soft’s advanced data backup and restoral solution, Layered Tech customers gain near-continuous disk-to-disk data protection and restoration with minimal server performance impact, even on busy servers.  Layered Tech selected R1Soft CDP because of its unique restoral capabilities, which range from restoring single files to full bare-metal restores.

“Protecting critical data is paramount for companies of all sizes, now more than ever, given the sophistication and volume of external threats today,” said Terrance Bush, CIO for Layered Tech. “By expanding our portfolio of services with the CDP solution from R1Soft, Layered Tech is providing enterprise customers with even more peace of mind so they can apply their full focus to managing their business.”

R1Soft CDP uses imaging technology that captures changed disk sectors. By tracking data changes at the disk sector level, backups take seconds to minutes to complete and can occur at anytime with minimal performance impact, even on busy servers. CDP operates with most Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as cPanel and Plesk control panels, and with its Web interface, customers have the option to manage their data backup schedules, define data retention periods and request bare-metal restores.  Learn more >>

“Data is regarded as mission-critical, yet we’ve found that a high percentage of companies don’t have data backup and disaster recovery strategies in place. By adding data backup and restoration capabilities into the services we offer, we can further support our customers’ needs, and we essentially give them a ‘one-stop shop’ to acquire the data services necessary to ensure business continuity,” said Layered Tech CMO John Pozadzides. “With R1Soft’s CDP solutions, Layered Tech customers can be assured their data has the highest integrity during all backups and restoration. No company can afford a loss of data, so we’re very excited to offer an affordable and flexible solution to prevent such situations.”

Layered Tech customers will recognize significant benefits with the addition of R1Soft’s CDP solutions:

Bare-metal restore – should a hard drive or system failure occur, a complete disk image can be restored on another server within minutes and without needing to install the O/S or backup application first;

Uptime – CDP only tracks and backups changed disk sectors instead of entire files, speeding backup time and preventing any reduction in server performance;

Choice – customers can choose from allocated backup storage amounts or a dedicated CDP server;

MySQL backups – restorations down to the individual database and table level are now possible; this allows maximum flexibility for MySQL database administrators and developers at an affordable price.
