Last week, we learned of some very exciting news from the industry analyst front – Layered Tech was one of 16 companies named in the Gartner “Magic Quadrant for Web Hosting and Hosted Cloud System Infrastructure Services (On Demand)” published July 2, 2009, and written by Gartner analysts Lydia Leong and Ted Chamberlin.
According to the Gartner report, “The Web hosting market is evolving rapidly and converging with cloud system infrastructure services, creating new opportunities for cost savings and business agility.” Gartner based its 2009 evaluation on five use cases for hosting: self-managed hosting, mainstream-managed hosting, highly complex managed hosting, global solutions portfolio, and enterprise applications hosting.
As our CEO Jack Finlayson indicated in our July 14 news release, “There are hundreds of hosting companies, so Layered Tech is particularly pleased to be named to Gartner’s Magic Quadrant because we believe that industry recognition like this validates the strategies we have been implementing during the past year. Layered Tech is committed to delivering a broad range of managed solutions to our customers. As a technology innovator, we continue to enhance our solution set while broadening our roadmap to include automated solutions that support our customers’ evolving needs.”
During the past year, Layered Tech has introduced a number of offerings, including the launch of Astro (our proprietary platform for rapid server deployment), the deployment of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 to Astro which broadens our existing portfolio of Linux and Unix operating systems, the expansion of Astro offerings to include Virtual Firewall Solutions from Fortinet, and the expansion of our DEFCON managed services to include virtual machines.
We are thrilled about this news and hope you all share not only our enthusiasm, but also our dedication to continuously providing valuable managed and hosting solutions and services to a wide variety of customers worldwide. More information is available at www.Gartner.com.
